To provide real-time insights into your Burn Rate and Runway, FounderFlow uses a secure integration with Plaid. By connecting your financial institutions, you eliminate manual data entry and ensure your investor dashboard is always updated with the most accurate information available.
1. Security and Privacy
At FounderFlow, we prioritize the security of your financial data. Our integration utilizes the Open Banking standard, which means:
Read-Only Access: FounderFlow can only view transactions and balances; we cannot move money or initiate payments.
Encryption: All data transmitted between your bank and our platform is encrypted using AES-256 standards.
No Password Storage: We never see or store your bank login credentials; the authentication happens directly with your bank.
2. Step-by-Step Connection Guide
Follow these steps to sync your accounts:
Navigate to Settings: Log in to your FounderFlow portal and click on the Settings icon in the bottom-left sidebar.
Select Integrations: Choose the "Integrations" tab and click on "Connect Bank."
Choose Your Bank: A secure Plaid window will appear. Search for your financial institution (e.g., Silicon Valley Bank, Mercury, Chase).
Authenticate: Enter your online banking credentials through the secure Plaid portal.
Select Accounts: Choose which specific checking or savings accounts you want to sync with your FounderFlow dashboard.
Confirm: Click "Finish" to begin the initial data sync.
3. Managing Your Connection
Once connected, FounderFlow will automatically pull new transactions every 24 hours. You can manage these connections at any time:
Re-authentication: Occasionally, for your security, your bank may require you to re-verify your connection (usually every 90 days).
Disconnecting: You can remove a bank account instantly by clicking "Disconnect" in the Integrations menu.
4. Troubleshooting
If you cannot find your bank in the search list, it may not yet support the Open Banking standard via Plaid. In these cases, you can use the "Manual Upload" feature to import your monthly CSV statements directly into the platform.
